2-door coupe convertible under the name of Cadillac XLR was produced from 2003 to 2009 based on Y platform (the same as Chevrolet Corvette had). Vehicle was planned to be released as a flagship sports car of Cadillac and was announced as a successor to Allante model. Car received 4.6 L Northstar V8 or 4.4 L Supercharged Northstar V8 engine, Also there was high-performance version of model released that was called XLR-V and updated model in 2009. Company had plans to build 5000 – 7000 units every year but model was not that popular and at most there were 3730 units produced yearly.
