6 series are coupe, convertible, sedan andn fastback models of grand tourer class. Manufacture of first generation of these cars was started in 1976 and finished in 1989. Since 1989 these models were not manufactured and only in 2003 second generation was launched until third generation took its place in 2011. Cars of this generation were produced until 2017 when the fourth generation was released. Counting from 2004, more than 200 000 units were produced. As it is usual, more powerful version of these cars was released under the name of M6.
