Caterham 7 is a open two seat super-lightweight sports car that was started to produce in 1973. Vehicle is built on Lotus Seven, that was discontinued in 1972 and the rights of cars design were sold to Caterham. Car weights over 500 kilograms because of the very light chassis and aluminum parts of the car. Since the beginning, car had different engines: 1.6 L 142 hp (104 kW), 1.7 L 152 hp (112 kW), 2.0 L 167 – 177 hp (123 – 130 kW), Swindon race engines that generates power of 221 hp (163 kW) and 238 hp (175 kW), 2.0 L 254 hp (186 kW) Vauxhall Touring Car engine, later other engines were installed in this car.
