Chevrolet Volt is a 5-door liftback hybrid that was introduced in 2011 and is being manufactured since then. The car is built on GM Delta II platform, receives 16 kWh lithium-ion battery (capacity was slightly increased in newer models) and gets electric engine that generates power of 149 hp (111 kW) and 1.4 L 4-cylinder 84 hp (63 kW) gasoline engine that starts working when the battery capacity level drops. Car was rated well in NHTSA crash test and was awarded by 5 stars. Second generation was manufactured from 2011 to 2016 and the second generation was released in 2016.
