GAZ (Gorky Automobile Plant) is a Russian automaker that was founded in 1932. The company was firstly created by government of Soviet Union. Main aim of the company is to produce automobiles and car parts. Manufacturer had cooperated with Ford at the beginning and was known as NAZ (Nizhegorodsky Avtomobilny Zavod). Until 1936 there were more than 100 000 units of cars built. In 1933 name of the company become GAZ. Currently company has few contract agreements to manufacture models of other companies such as Daimler, GM or Volkswagen Group. After the Bo Andersson, former GM vice-president, became CEO of GAZ, company achieved best results in it’s history.
